Fellow blogger friends! I was like to begin this post by saying hello and long time no see. Unfortunately this whole blogging thing took a back step as I became overwhelmed with university life and teaching...but I am glad to be back! So, I why not just delve into it. It is Monday the 14th of September and I am grateful for:

Good evening lovely people! I'm going to be real here and say that this past week has not been the best. It has just been one of those weeks...not particularly bad but nothing particularly good either. So I'm going to be honest and say that I found it a little difficult to focus on the positives when coming to write this, however the whole purpose behind this 'Monday musings' thing' was so that I would set aside a time each week, no matter how dull that week had been, to recognise the little things in my life that make me happy. It's Monday and I'm Grateful for... Lush bath bombs (particularly 'Dragon Egg') People who genuinely want to know how your week was (no matter what the answer might be) Friends who find the positives in your negatives. Cute blouses with bunnies on them. Peter Pan collared shirts. Udon (because what's not to like about veggies and noodles in a delicious broth - Japanese food is always on point) The beginning of new traditions. Clean drinking water. Cosy jumpers. Winter cuddles. XXX Hello chums! Nice to be back! Of course it is Monday and holy crepe did that 7 days just fly. Today is a short one...not because I have any less things to be grateful for but that I am currently preparing for a very important interview whilst trying to fend off this never-ending cold. *fingers crossed it doesn't become laryngitis before Wednesday*. So here I go. It's Monday and I'm grateful for: Living in a country that is situated in the middle of a tectonic plate. Being part of a church community which strives for social justice. Lemon and Ginger tea. Pinterest...do I even have to justify this? Fluffy socks. When your parents come home and have bought you a brand new pair of fluffy socks (I love you guys!) 2 year olds and their approach to world. Hand Sanitiser (for general cleanliness as well as keeping germs away when having to look after 2 year olds) Zucchinis...because, YUM. Chapstick. Question - has anyone ever gotten to the bottom of one of these things? Welcoming cuddles. XXX Happy Monday my sweet sweet friends!! This week has flown by and to be honest I kinda forgot that it was Monday until I checked my to-do list for the day. As you all know the weekend that has just passed was Mother's Day so my sister and I spoilt my mum and took her out on a day of mini adventures. Let's just say lots of delicious food was consumed, wine was poured and there was a gold class cinema experience tucked in there as well. Side note here: Broadway Lux Cinema is pretty amazing! All in all the weekend that has just passed was pretty good...so without further ado here is my list of things I am grateful for this Monday. My Mum* The ability we have to share in laughter with others. Sweet potato (I could pretty much live off these things) Inside jokes. John Green and his collection of books. Cable knit beanies with pom poms on top. Pretty sticky notes (for planners and general use around the house...) Amazingly supportive university teachers. Cotton On basic t-shirts (oh so comfy!) Pastel textas. Reassuring hugs from loved ones. XXX * There is no possible way I can write down everything I am grateful for about my Mum. But I can wrap it up by saying she is one pretty amazing human being.
Happy Monday everyone! I hope your weekend was pleasant and all that jazz. This week for me has been one filled with equal parts excitement and anxiety. Let me explain. I spent the latter half of the week handing my resumes into schools for some casual teaching work (for my first ever time I might add!) and then pretty much spent my entire weekend making resources, creating behaviour management plans, buying items for my 'treasure box' and all the stuff that comes with teaching. On top go that, my immune system decided to have a slight glitch and caught a cold. So here I am...box of tissues on one side, sucking on a lozenge writing my Monday gratefulness blog...not to mention that I am pretty sure I reek of garlic from all the garlic products I have purchased to get rid of this cold. However, no such luck...but at least it'll keep those pesky vampires away. Guys and Gals...It's Monday and I'm grateful for.... Earl Grey Tea.
Laminators in all of their glory. Mothers who willingly cut out hundreds (literally) of laminated resources for you (shout out to the mums of teachers). Facebook relief teacher support groups. What gems. Puppy cuddles. Codral Cold & Flu medication. Scratch and sniff stickers. When scratch and sniff stickers are half price!! (C'mon people...this is definitely something to cheer about!) Netflix - for the procrastination service it provides me with. Apple and cinnamon scented candles...for you know, when you want your house to smell like Apple Pie and all the Christmassy things. Sufjan Stevens and his beautiful voice. Goodnight kisses. XXX Welcome, welcome! I've got my very first collection of Monday musings for you all...and by all I mean the few of you who actually read this blog. This week has been particularly stressful with everything that comes along with life ie. uni work, job, general day to day decision making (usually entails me asking myself the question - should I eat this piece of cheesecake? The answer is and should always be yes...unless you are lactose intolerant. In that case I pass on my condolences). However in the midst of April craziness there were plenty of things I found to be grateful for...things that made me happy. So I should probably stop rambling and share them with you. I hope that this list reminds you of some positive things that happened in your week or maybe you can resonate with some of the unique things that make me happy and recall what things you are grateful for. Ikea
Organisational 'things' from Ikea. Parents who are willing to walk around Ikea with you whilst you purchase said organisational 'things'. Woodland creature designed slippers which keep your feet warm on cold nights. When my dachshunds are so excited to see me in the morning. A mother who kindly hand washes all my Dangerfield clothing - Love you Mum! Milk arrowroot biscuits - for being a perfect snack with a cup of tea. Good coffee. Good looking baristas who make good coffee. Friends who bring you good coffee that a good looking barista has made. Church community. Meeting new people over a bowl of soup. XXX |
